When Ruin Falls from the Heavens, Hope Will Rise from the Earth Below.
In the peaceful world of Liafyse, the gods in the Heavens watch over the people of the surface world. One day, the seal is broken on a heavenly temple, and the "seeds of ruin" stored within are unleashed. The seeds lay waste to the gods before falling to the earth below. They contain the essences of monstrous ruinators that had been sealed away, and having stolen the gods power, if allowed to grow they will sow calamity throughout the surface world. The goddess Leonne, the last surviving deity in the Heavens, uses what remains of her power to slow their growth. She then sends her sprite retainer to the surface world to find the "Great Savior" and seal away the seeds once more.The protagonist awakens to find himself bereft of memories and staring at a sprite named Lippy and a girl named Sara. Lippy refers to the boy as "the Great Savior," and asks him to use the hero-summoning power of stonecantation to help purify their world. And thus, their adventure across a vast world begins. But none among the three friends can even imagine where their journey of purification will take them...
Allen
The Great Savior is the game's player character, who possesses the power to purify the seeds of ruin and the ability to manifest legendary warriors from “hero stones.” He has no memories of his own past when he first meets Sara and Lippy, but eventually learns that he was once an emissary of the Heavens named Allen.
Sara
A cheerful young adventurer, Sara met Lippy shortly after leaving home and agreed to help him find the Great Savior. She learned various tricks from her adventurer brother, including first aid and healing artes. Having grown up in a rural fishing village, she's always excited to discover new sights on her travels.
Zephyr
Like Allen, Zephyr descended to the surface world as an envoy of the Heavens on a mission of purification. Together, they join Kana on her quest to seek the power of the Three Goddesses of the Beyond. But the fate that awaits him at that journey's end would prove to be a cruel one.
Kana
Kana is a young woman who secures the party's assistance on a journey to receive a latent power that was promised to her. She possesses an almost naively strong sense of right and wrong, and can never ignore a perceived injustice. Her comrades often need to check her rash behavior by pulling her back by her hood.
Lippy
A sprite in service of Leonne, Lippy descended to the surface world with orders to recover the seeds of ruin. With his wisdom and artes, he devotedly serves the Great Savior, who has the power to purify the seeds. He sometimes changes his appearance to fit the situation.
Caesar
Sara's brother Caesar was a renowned adventurer who would stop at nothing to help those in need, until he became implanted with a seed of ruin and set off on a journey to hasten the sprouting of the other seeds. His greatest strength is his tenacity, and Sara's party will have to contend with him time and time again.
Leonne
A goddess with a calm and virtuous demeanor, Leonne survived by sheer chance when the seeds of ruin were freed. She possesses great power, but is using so much of it to suppress the growth of the seeds that she can do little else. Instead, she has tasked Lippy with locating the Great Savior and recovering the seeds.
