Challenge the Fate That Binds You
One year has passed since the battle to set the Twin Worlds free. Though the worlds have now become one, Dahnans and Renans continue to clash. Alphen and his friends once again find themselves caught in the middle of this discord when, one day, they meet a mysterious young girl named Nazamil. With both Dahnan and Renan roots, she has nowhere to call home, leading Alphen to take her under the group's wing. The journey continues in this latest Tales of Arise installment.
Nazamil
Born to a Renan lord father and Dahnan slave mother, she is a young girl with a unique lineage and powers. Raised on Lenegis, she shuts herself off from the outside world due to the constant scorn of those around her. Cursing that which makes her different, she gives up on ever feeling accepted. She finds herself wandering after being kicked out of a town she stopped by when Alphen and his friends run into her.
Alphen
A young man and former slave who uses his Blazing Sword to save the Dahnans from Renan oppression. He is thus nicknamed after his sword, much to his chagrin, as it symbolizes both hero and destroyer. Alphen finds it difficult to settle in one place due to this, and elects to remain on the road with Shionne. Through his fate encounter with Nazamil, however, he must once again come face to face with the conflict plaguing Renan and Dahnan society.
Shionne
Following the events of the previous year, Shionne is freed of her curse, and while she's still not used to being in close contact with others, she finds joy in it all the same. She once had to keep everyone at a distance, but now enjoys their company regardless of background. She wishes to return the favor to Alphen for saving her, but feels frustrated that he keeps his problems to himself.
Rinwell
A Dahnan belonging to a line of mages, who have the unique ability to use astral artes. Having accepted her roots, she continues to polish her abilities, while throwing herself into researching Dahnan history and culture. Hootle is exasperated with her daily routine of study and battle. She is close with Shionne, and laments the fact that their friends rarely get to meet up.
Law
A young Dahnan warrior. Though he still doesn't measure up to his late father or Alphen, his frank personality has a way of encouraging those around him. He sometimes stops by Viscint when he isn't busy fighting zeugles for the Crimson Crows. He stubbornly insists there's no deeper meaning to his visits, but who can say for sure?
Kisara
A former Elde Menancia guard. She previously served Dohalim and was treated as his equal, and as such is one of his greatest supporters. She now works as an instructor for the new defense forces in Viscint. A woman of many talents, she excels in everything from combat to housework. Her dedication to her vision of coexistence has won her respect from both Menancia's Dahnans and Renans alike.
Dohalim
A former lord and the last Renan to hold a position of authority. He now resides in Pelegion, where he helps refugees and works towards a peaceful future with the Dahnans. He remains greatly revered in Menancia, where he formerly ruled, and his friends continue to look to him for guidance. A great scholar and warrior, his refined tastes lend to his otherworldly air about him.
Hootle
A young Dahnan owl who accompanies Rinwell. Once thought to be extinct, his species is known for its wing color variation, dependent on its habitat. Rinwell understands him better than anyone else, so the two are inseparable.
